Zhang Hongsheng, R&D Director at Done Power, explained that to enhance product stability and reliability, the company conducted in-depth research and stringent testing on the MAP series' circuit architecture. Since the MAP series adopts a single-stage PFC architecture, it's susceptible to induced lightning and grid fluctuations, potentially causing overheating issues. To address these challenges, Done Power's engineers implemented multiple optimizations. First, they redesigned the PCB layout to quickly dissipate surge currents, effectively mitigating grid fluctuation impacts.
Second, to resolve overheating, engineers applied high-thermal-conductivity adhesive to improve heat dissipation and ensure temperature control. Additionally, they strategically separated and positioned heat-generating components and magnetic devices closer to the casing for faster heat dissipation.
At the same time, close discussions and cooperation were carried out with the shell supplier. Through thermal conduction design, the R&D team fully evaluated the thermal resistance and heat conduction path direction and accurately designed the shell shape. Combined with the aluminum material of the shell, the best solution was implemented to further enhance the heat dissipation capacity of the product.
Each product undergoes rigorous testing including dual 85°C testing, partial testing, pre-potting testing, aging testing, and final product testing to guarantee the MAP series' reliability, contributing significantly to the Universiade's success. These engineering efforts exemplify Done Power's commitment to innovation in high-power lighting drivers, as the company continues developing premium solutions for major events and supporting China's sports development.
